In robotic dispensing applications, bent or misaligned nozzles introduce positional errors that compromise bead accuracy and part quality. The Coherix 3D TCP Locator tool provides a robust, automated solution by measuring the actual position of the dispensing nozzle and recalibrating the robot’s Tool Center Point (TCP) in real-time.

Real-Time 3D Sensing for True Nozzle Location

Integrated with a Coherix 3D system, the TCP Locator captures the precise 3D position of the nozzle tip. This measurement is compared against the nominal TCP, and the offset is transmitted to the robot through the Coherix 3D system. The robot path is then dynamically adjusted to match the actual nozzle position, and Coherix 3D system setup automatically adapts to this offset – ensuring the bead is still applied at the correct location with no human intervention.

With TCP Locator seamlessly integrated in a wide range of industrial robot brands and the Coherix 3D system as an integral part of the dispensing cell, the nozzle change-over process, historically a common pain point for 2K dispensing applications, becomes streamlined and “trouble-free”.
