Coherix Inc. Announces Appointment of James K. West as New Board Member

Industry veteran bolsters technology company board

Ann Arbor, Michigan, January 26, 2016 — Coherix, Inc., a global leader in three dimensional (3D) machine vision, today announced James K. West as the newest member of its Board of Directors.

An industry veteran with more than 35 years of broad experience commercializing machine vision, robotics and 3D measurement products, West is poised to help Coherix continue to expand the use of its technology solutions into sophisticated manufacturing processes.

A holder of 11 patents, West attended the General Motors Institute (now Kettering University) where he earned a BS in Electrical Engineering. He also was awarded an MS in Electrical Engineering at the University of Illinois Coordinated Science Laboratory where he focused on machine vision, robotics and artificial intelligence. His professional life includes co-founding Perceptron, and serving as CTO at FARO Technologies, VP of Engineering at SMX and founder of the Technology Consulting Network, a consultancy helping companies achieve success developing optical, electronic and mechanical devices. In addition, West is the founder and past president of The Machine Vision Association and former Director of both Robotics International and the Society of Manufacturing Engineers (SME).
