Coherix Inc. Announces New Product Line – The ShaPix™ 1500 Series
Ann Arbor, Michigan, May 15, 2013 — Coherix Inc., a leader in advanced robust3D vision based measurement and inspection solutions for manufacturing, is excited to announce the release of its newest member of the ShaPix® technology family. The ShaPix 1500 utilizes Coherix’s proven multi-wavelength interferometer technology and analysis software to create micron level, high-definition 3D pictures, allowing manufacturers to easily evaluate their machined parts within minutes.
“The development of the ShaPix 1500 Series brings our advanced technology to a whole new level. This series allows us to offer our high-tech metrology tool and analysis software to a broader range of industries and a more diverse set of users,” stated Dwight Carlson, CEO of Coherix. “Unlike its big brother, the ShaPix 3000 Series, which is industrial proven and plant floor hardened, the 1500 Series is a smaller, compact and lightweight configuration with a 150mm x 150mm field of view. Easily configurable solutions range from stationary systems optimal for small components like pumps, to XY motion systems capable of measuring large machined surfaces like deck faces.”
Positioned as the best tool to create full 3D high-definition height maps of planar surfaces, ShaPix measures the profile, flatness and waviness of precision parts. The resolution and accuracy of the data combined with its measurement speed, ease of use and reliability, this technology and analysis software is catching the interest of many manufacturers looking for an alternative and more efficient solution than traditional metrology. The data generated by this state-of-the-art system helps optimize product design and manufacturing processes to reduce planar surface escape points from product development through volume production. The ShaPix technology has proven to be effective in mitigating launch issues, creating supplier part masters and extending cutting tool life.
