Coherix Creates Free Form Waviness Traces In Shapix Analyzer 8.0

Ann Arbor, Michigan, December 1, 2011 — Coherix®, a leader in advanced Robust3D Measurement solutions for manufacturing has released new waviness analysis capability in its latest version of ShaPix® Analyzer Software. This breakthrough in waviness analysis results in the ability for ShaPix® users to establish free form and circular traces around sealing surfaces that more accurately simulate gasket paths.

“Waviness is becoming a more popular analysis tool not only to diagnose processes that machine surfaces, but to predict functionality like sealing,” said Michael Mater, Chief Engineer for ShaPix. “ShaPix® enables customers to visualize waviness in 3D over the entire surface, employing traditional traces and/or free form traces called paths. With the addition of the ‘Wt vs Wsm’ analysis to paths, customers can quantitatively predict how machined surfaces will function with the gasket directly where the bead contacts the machined surface. ShaPix® waviness tools provide a deeper understanding of joints, enabling gasket suppliers to work closer with manufacturing to produce robust sealing solutions.”

ShaPix® systems will be shipped with Analyzer 8.0 starting in Q2 of 2012. Customers with existing ShaPix® systems can contact Coherix® for information regarding upgrading to Analyzer 8.0.
