Coherix Announced Major Software Update for Predator3D™

Ann Arbor, Michigan, November 10, 2016Coherix, Inc., a global leader in Three-Dimensional (3D) Machine Vision, today announced the release of a major update to the Predator3D software i-Cite™, which enables the 3D bead inspection system to use speed information from the robot to automatically adapt its inspection capability when the robot speed or timing is changed.

Predator3D is the most advanced adhesive and sealant bead inspection system in the market. It is equipped with four high-speed laser-based sensors that surround the bead dispensing nozzle, and provide real-time 3D profile of bead volume and location.  It is common for robot programmers to slow or speed up portions of their robot dispense program to improve their bead quality. When this happens, a traditional bead inspection system would need to be reprogrammed. However, with the latest update of i-Cite (version 2.14.63A), Predator3D will automatically detect the speed change and make adjustments accordingly, and will continue inspecting without skipping a beat.

“Our Predator3D is the leading bead inspection product on the market today, and this release puts us even further ahead of our competition. This is a significant software release to enhance the user experience.” said Dwight Carlson, CEO and Chairman of Coherix.
